A direct cremation is a simple, unattended cremation where the body is cremated without a formal service or mourners present at the crematorium.

Your trusted, NAFD approved, funeral director

As your trusted, NAFD Approved, locally based Funeral Director, we feel it is important that you are aware of exactly what a Direct Cremation entails.

  • We will collect your loved one from their place of passing and transport them to our Chapel of Rest in Cardigan.
  • Once the relevant paperwork has been complete and the death has been registered; a day and time can be arranged that is agreed with next of kin/family members/relevant representative.
  • On the day and time agreed, the deceased is transported to the crematorium in the agreed upon coffin.
  • A member of the crematorium staff and the funeral director act as pall bearers to escort the coffin into the crematorium Chapel and to the committal area. A song of your choice can be played during this time.
  • The curtain comes across the coffin once it is situated in the committal area; the pall bearers with the coffin until this is complete.
  • The cremation takes place.
  • The ashes are collected by the funeral director and brought back to Cardigan to await collection from the next of kin, or relevant representative.

Unlike many of the Direct Cremation services advertised on TV, your local independent funeral directors are not limited on what services and extras they can provide, and can arrange a Direct Cremation service that’s tailored to your individual needs and wishes.

Simple Direct Cremation Package

Our simplest Direct Cremation Package includes:

  • Transfer of the deceased from the place of death.
  • Administration of paperwork.
  • Attending to the necessary arrangements during office hours at our premises.
  • Care of the deceased person prior to the funeral.
  • Transporting the deceased to the crematorium.
  • Provision of a cardboard* coffin
  • Collection of cremated remains in a suitable container from the crematorium.

Cost: £1,700.00

*This can be changed to a more suitable coffin at an additional cost.
